Construction Inspector

Summit Associates is immediately hiring Construction Inspectors with 5-7 years of work experience to inspect all phases of construction on roadway projects. Applicants are required to provide 5 projects examples with 3 work references.
The inspector shall have the ability to independently inspect routine construction phases for roadway construction projects. Assignments are of an independent or supporting nature depending the scope or complexity of the project.
Projects generally involve slurry/micro seal, chip seal, asphalt overlay, sub grade preparation, pavement markings and/or traffic control.
Primary Duties Include:
Inspect assigned phases of work on a project working with the contractor and other representatives to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
Frequently check lines, grades, dimensions of roadway grading/paving and advise contractor of any discrepancies.
Check methods of construction where specific methods are stated and work to correct any variances with contractor.
Ensure that work zones and traffic control setups are in accordance with current
standards.
Prepare daily inspector reports and properly document other construction activities or material tests.
Record material received showing quantities estimated to be required in quantities received used and tested.
Check materials and material documents to make sure that they have been tested or perform
routine physical tests as required.
Attend or hold meetings as required for the project.
Other duties as assigned or required by the client.
Positions are currently open in Montana, Arizona (Grand Canyon N. and S. Rims), and Washington. Compensation for these positions is based on experience. Per Diem and vehicle allowance provided (must have own vehicle). In some areas lodging may be limited and owning an RV may be beneficial. Work is scheduled to begin June, 22 and is seasonal.
