National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), the nation’s oldest and largest national parks nonprofit advocacy organization seeks an Arizona Program Manager. The Arizona Program Manager works as part of the Southwest Regional Office (SWRO) team and represents NPCA strategic priorities in the state, including landscape-scale protection surrounding parks, enhancing ecological and habitat health, protecting park resources from climate change impacts, and making parks and the stories they preserve relevant and accessible to all Americans. Arizona is a large, dynamic state with 22 national park units and is diverse geographically, socially, and economically, including one of the largest Native American populations in the country. The Program Manager will possess an ability to work in the many and varied communities and populations associated with these national parks, with special emphasis on Grand Canyon, Organ Pipe, Saguaro, and Canyon de Chelly, and attention as needed in numerous other parks.

Under the direction of the Southwest Regional Director and in coordination with other NPCA departments and teams, the position manages and implements regional and national program goals including park protection, park funding, climate change threats, and, very importantly, Tribal engagement and collaboration in all these efforts. The Manager develops strategic campaign plans and outreach and engagement strategies around priorities, identifies resource and budget needs for successful outcomes, and maintains communications and relationships with National Park Service staff, Tribes, community leaders, congressional and senate members and staff, local and state elected officials and the media. The Manager also identifies and stewards donors and foundation funders, including Arizona members of the SWRO Regional Council.
