POSITION SUMMARY

The Department is responsible for the security, and fire protection of company and Grand Canyon National Park assets, guests and their belongings, along with employees and their personal property. All duties are in accordance with GuestPath Universal Service Standards and applicable Operational Standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Pedestrian and mobile patrol of Company facilities and locations throughout Grand Canyon.

Responds to, investigates, and composes detailed and accurate reports regarding a wide variety of incidents, including but not limited to property and persons crimes, minor to fatal injuries, and traffic collisions.

Retains and forwards confidential or proprietary information in accordance with guidelines and training.

Responds to intrusion, hold-up, panic, and fire alarms.

Assists park visitors and employees as needed.

Recovers and secures unsecured Company assets.

Provides transport for guests and employees per policy and as assigned.

Provides cash escorts between Company facilities.

Performs the "Cash Run" as assigned, which involves retrieving daily deposits from Company facilities and transporting the deposits to designated location(s).

Opens units after hours as instructed.

Assists the National Park Service with medical responses, traffic management, or other duties as directed.

Assists unit managers with lost and found items as requested.

Monitors condition of fire systems in all units.

Secures designated facilities, facilities found unsecured, or property found unsecured.

Assists with fires, wind storms, floods, blizzards, evacuations, and other emergencies as directed. If off-duty and not on-call, must be able to check in with Security management once you learn of an incident or condition.

Attends and testifies at legal meetings, court proceedings and disciplinary meetings as required.

Provides security for special functions.

Performs other services as requested or required by management.

Reports to the Security Manager or designate.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Must possess a valid driver's license with no restrictions other than corrective lenses.

Must have certification in CPR and BASIC FIRST AID or become certified within 30 days of employment, per Company policy.

Must be able to perform extended foot patrol and apprehension as needed.

Must be willing and able to work any day or shift, including nights.

Must be able to work with minimum supervision.

Must be able to effectively and calmly communicate via two-way radio or other devices, using appropriate radio decorum and voice inflection.

Must have strong written and verbal communications skills including the ability to read, speak, and write English.

Must possess strong customer service skills, and become proficient with Delaware Norths safety, GuestPath and GreenPath programs.

Must possess keen powers of observation and the ability to draw conclusions from disparate sources of information.

Must present a professional business appropriate image, be honest, mature, pleasant, self-starting, responsible, friendly, and neat.

Vision must be of sufficient quality that the individual is not restricted in the performance of duties, day or night.

Requires the ability to see, hear, walk, run, sit, squat, bend, reach and grasp objects. Also must be able to effectively communicate verbally, physically assist or restrain others, and operate a motor vehicle, throughout the shift, all in safe manner in a variety of weather conditions.

Must be able to use, or quickly learn, computer applications such as Microsoft products, to document investigations and communicate with other parties.

Must be able to carry up to 50lbs.
