The Licensed Massage Therapist provides professional massage and bodywork services to our clients. They must be proficient in a variety of services and be willing to train in our practices specific offerings. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to explain our services and products to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the needs of our clients.

As a small, team-based practice LMTs are expected to be versatile to help our practice run efficiently and provide a professional experience for our clients. This includes assisting with team tasks and being able to schedule clients, checkout appointments, and checkout retail products.

Technical Skills

Perform 30-120 minute massage and bodywork sessions.

Provide consistent professional massage and bodywork in accordance with business protocols and accepted certification practices.

Within 6 months of hire, be able to complete all add-on services and migraine miracle.

Maintain licensure, CEU requirements and current professional liability insurance.

Complete accurate SOAP notes within 24 hours of appointment.

Be prompt with each appointment and perform services within the time allotted.

Greet every client with a smile.

Using the intake process, gather information to develop a treatment plan and educate clients on what to expect during their session.

Following the session, debrief with the client and make recommendations for their self-care and return visit using the provided client consultation forms.

Follow established protocols and policies (draping, dress code, etc).

During session, effectively communicate with client to make sure session is comfortable and effective.

Properly care for equipment and supplies. Use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.

Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and business policies and procedures.

Travel to corporate locations to deliver on-site massages for employees

Teamwork Skills

Regularly attend, participate in and support training and team meetings.

Communicate professionally and effectively with clients and team members.

Be flexible to support the needs of our clients, coworkers and the business.

Timely communication regarding any issue.

Be professional & quiet both when in massage session and when not in massage session.

Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.

Business Understanding and Engagement

Actively engage in helping the business grow and succeed.

Have the ability to checkout appointments, schedule clients, and sell retail items.

Have a thorough knowledge of services, products, pricing options

Assist with keeping the office running efficiently and maintaining a clean and professional atmosphere.

Assist in all areas of business operation as requested by management.

Personal Responsibility and Ethics

Arrive on time (at least 15 minutes before appointment start time) to ensure you have plenty of time to prepare for your first client

Have reliable transportation to insure attendance at appointments and team meetings.

Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.

Promptly communicate to management any and all occurrences involving clients or coworkers that require attention.

Follow business policies and protocols.

Operates within AMTAs Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

Frequent standing with some walking.

Able to climb one flight of stairs multiple times per day.

Able to lift and carry 20 lbs up one flight of stairs.

Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills

Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel, stoop or crouch repeatedly.

Working Conditions

Primarily indoor work setting. Occasional outdoor events.

Fixed schedule that will include evenings and weekends, as business dictates.

Off-site services provided primarily in business settings (chair massage). Occasional in-home services.

Compensation

Competitive per-session compensation.
