What you will be doing:Own and Guide the Program:Develop and maintain an annual research plan that prioritizes research activities in alignment with California decarbonization goals.
Manage the delivery of a statewide research portfolio budget, scope of work, and schedule to achieve all project goals, KPIs, and client and customer satisfaction.
Lead the Narrative:Lead industry engagement, representing the program in a variety of public forums including presentations at industry conferences, state and national committees focused on emerging energy efficiency technology research, California Public Utility Commission and/or California Energy Commission workshops and other project-focused outreach events.
Collaborate with Technology Developers, OEMs, and other research entities (e.g., national labs) to identify technology opportunities with a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 4 or 5 that will fill the research pipeline for project engineers.
Collaborate with industry stakeholders to overcome market barriers to energy efficiency technologies and develop strategies to transfer those technologies into the marketplace at scale.
Drive Successful Teams:Mentor and guide supporting staff in the delivery and reporting of research activities.
Coordinate cross-functional project teams comprised of engineers, scientists, and analysts (both ICF internal staff and subcontractors) to successfully deliver research projects to client.
What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in energy efficiency, and/or renewable energy project management.
Working level knowledge or experience with commercial, industrial, agricultural or residential natural gas energy efficiency equipment such as HVAC, water heating, cooking and/or process/controls.

Experience writing, publishing, and presenting technical papers or concepts.
Knowledge of various market partners and channels that would be leveraged in the transfer of high potential natural gas efficiency technologies into the market.
