Our dynamic business generates many questions that provide lots of opportunity to get deep in data and have real impact.Analytics and Business Insight (ABI) is a smart, fun team of 140+ that provide quantitative decision support to multiple business units across Schwab. We help our business partners better understand the needs and behaviors of our prospects and clients through analytics, data science, market research, and business intelligence.What you’re good atIn this role you will work directly with data partners and colleagues to engineer optimal solutions that support both short- and long-term priorities for Operational Services organization, with solutions ranging from traditional to more modern, interactive business intelligence and analytic tools.You will craft insights, create visualizations, and fuel data products that identify business opportunity and influence client experiences.

Construct and manage data stores containing information about our organization’s core business processes activities to provide meaningful business insights

Consult with business partners to understand their needs and goals and build visually appealing dashboards or reports that help them achieve those goals

Collaborate with team members across data functions including analysts, data engineers, data scientists and analysts to deliver best-in-class solutions

Develop high-impact analyses quantifying the impact of key business initiatives

Communicate methodologies and results through compelling, clear visualizations and simplify and present complex concepts to a non-technical audience

What you bring

BI Solution Provider : your passion is implementing and supporting BI solutions by monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing consumer questions regarding data integrity, monitoring performance, and communicating functional and technical design features and issues

Data wrangling: you are comfortable writing SQL queries from scratch that blend together data from dozens of sources in the right form for analysis, visualization, or reporting

Data visualization: you excel at creating rich data visualizations to communicate complex ideas to leaders, and make data-driven stories come to life through visuals (you grok data-ink ratios and make data-driven stories come to life through visuals)

Business acumen: you understand the bigger picture for customers and the business and know how to probe beyond stakeholders’ stated requests to really understand their needs and the value of information

Detail orientation: you know how to optimize data, launch production, and manage change control

What you have

S. degree in Engineering, Information Management, Finance, Mathematics or similar quantitative field

Proficiency with data visualization software such as Tableau, Qlik, Microsoft

5+ years experience in Business Intelligence, relational data modeling, Data Analytics and SQL structured programming, ad hoc queries, and data analysis development using Teradata, Oracle, and/or Microsoft SQL Server in a large scale data warehouse environment

Experience developing database objects focused on scalability, performance benchmarking, and data consistency guiding business strategy and decisions

Driven to continuously seek opportunity for process improvement, automation, and risk mitigation

Experience working directly with business and technology partners to understand objectives and articulate the impact of Business Intelligence solutions
