JOB TITLE: Security Analyst – Tier II
Role Summary:
As a member of the MSS Operations team, the Security Analyst Tier 2 is responsible for supporting and managing the tools, systems, and technology provided to clients of the company’s Managed Security Services business globally. The company’s Security’s Managed Security Services include Security Device Management and Support, Threat Monitoring, Managed Endpoint Protection and Response, Managed Attacker Deception, Managed Anti-Malware, and Managed Vulnerability Scanning.
Security Analyst Tier 2 must take responsibility for customer satisfaction and overall success of managed services. They must be available, ready, and able to accept incoming calls, respond in a timely manner) to client requests and security events, adhere to policies, procedures, and security best practices document actions in tickets to effectively communicate information internally and to customers.
The ideal candidate is passionate about cyber security, finding threats, identifying new detection techniques, and providing excellent client support and satisfaction. They will like the “nuts and bolts” of day to day tactical execution of MSS operations, threat hunting, intrusion analysis and security device operation. They must be a self-motivated, team oriented technology professional familiar with moderate experience in endpoint security analysis, Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) systems, next generation security devices, Windows forensics, and security operations. In addition to possessing deep technical knowledge and a sense of urgency, the Security Analyst interacts extensively with clients and partners using polite, professional etiquette.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform security incidents triage in 24x7 shifts.
  • Manage escalated cases to the Tier 2 queue
  • Deliver high quality incident handling and investigation
  • Mentor Tier 1 analysts
  • Validate detections in customer environment
  • Qualify, review, and provide recommendations for security posture improvements in
    customer environments
  • Work with other analysts to investigate complex or advanced incidents
  • Resolve problems without direction and understand the correct escalation procedures.
  • Perform on-call duties (rotation) for threat monitoring escalations
  • Manage customer communication on security incidents


Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years’ experience managing and monitoring security devices
  • Experience triaging security events from a SIEM, WAF’s, IDS’, or other security devices
  • Excellent client interaction skills including excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Advanced understanding of Windows, MacOS, Unix / Linux operating systems
