Position Summary

This position is the key service contact for customers filing claims on the various vehicle service contracts administered by the company. This position is also responsible for providing complete and sound claim approvals, according to various written contracts, and be able to clearly explain contract terms by performing the following duties.

Primary Responsibilities

Answers phones

Reviews contract coverage

Reviews inspections.

Provides customer service

Adjudicates claims to help control cost.

Enters information into computer or computes amounts due.

Ensures claim files are properly documented and claims coding is correct.

Provide accurate, courteous and timely information to all eligible external and internal customers concerning claim status and other claim inquiries.

Conduct and coordinate loss investigations on all assigned claims.

Recommend further action on claims exceeding authority limits.

Review coverage questions and work with supervisor and claim management for approval.

Occasionally will aide in the training and mentoring of new employees.

Requirements

Advanced automotive mechanical knowledge.

2+ Years certified repair facility experience.

High School diploma or GED and six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read, analyze, interpret and document such as contracts, claim procedure guides and coverage pages. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to apply common sense, to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Database Software (Access); Internet Software; Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook).

Remain calm and professional in stressful situations.

Friendly, courteous, service-oriented, and flexible and enjoy working with a variety of staff.

Detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines.

Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision; able to manage multiple projects.

Recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.

Ability to type 30 WPM
