The Controller/Senior Accounting Manager position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial report, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Management of accounting, insurance, payroll operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Maintain outsourced functions
Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organization structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
Manage Senior Accountant and Accountant - Accounts Payable
Manage all insurance policies, overseeing general liability, property and casualty, workers compensation insurance requirements.
Learn payroll and perform function on a rotational basis in order to have a backup
Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
Oversee new ACA and Health Insurance guidelines using outsourced functions * Manage all accounting functions
Ensure that periodic bank and line of credit reconciliations are completed
Manage foreign vendor wires and reconciliations
Maintain the chart of accounts, 1099 reporting, and system of controls over accounting transactions
Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
Issue timely and complete financial statements and provide information analysis
Coordinate required documents to external auditors for the annual review and quarterly collateral audits and reporting
Production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk
Enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Work with supply chain to make improvements on areas that directly affect accounting functions
Maintain banking relationships, including any necessary reporting for financing purpose
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors' Degree in Accounting, or similar field
Master's Degree preferred
Active listening skills, reading comprehension, writing and arithmetic skills required.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills preferred
Ability to work with minimal supervision
QuickBooks accounting software experience required
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Administrative atmosphere in office environment.
