Job Title: Faith Development Coordinator

Granite Peak Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Prescott, AZ, is seeking a Coordinator of Faith Development programming. The successful applicant will have a bachelors degree (preferred) and experience and training in education of children, youth and adults. We are looking for an individual to guide spiritual growth and faith development programming in line with our Unitarian Universalist inclusive, liberal religious principles and values.

Hours: 15/week at $16.00/hour, 42 weeks per year. (8/15/19 to 5/31/20)

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. Experience and training in education, administration, and program development is preferred. Administrative and interpersonal skills are essential, and the candidate must be able to engage effectively with children, youth, and adults. A creative and collaborative attitude is necessary for working in teams, and openness to inclusive liberal principles and values; learning about Unitarian Universalism is essential.

Responsibilities:

The Coordinator of Faith Development reports to and is supervised by the Minister or designee;

Participates in staff meetings;

Organizes and administers the Faith Development Program in collaboration with the Faith Development Committee;

Meets monthly with Faith Development Committee and with Faith Development chair as needed;

Researches, selects, creates, and implements curricula for children and youth;

Coordinates and publicizes adult Faith Development for the congregation;

Recruits, trains, and supports Faith Development volunteers and childcare staff;

Manages expenditures for the Faith Development program, provides input to the Faith Development Committee for creation of the annual Faith Development budget request;

Ensures necessary supplies are ordered and maintained to support Childrens Faith Development programs and activities;

Writes monthly newsletter column;

Provides monthly written report to the Faith Development Board Liaison to report to the Board;

In coordination with the Minister, plans and coordinates the Sunday Service Time for All AgesĀ and participates in multi-generational services, planning the involvement of children and youth;

Promotes Faith Development programming to the larger community;

Collaborates with the Social Justice Coordinator to expose/include children to and in Justice issues, activities and events.

Faith Development Committee Duties:

The Faith Development Committee will implement the Faith Development Program and support the duties of the Coordinator. Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

a) Recruit and support Faith Development volunteers;

b) Help create the agenda, provide reports and attend monthly Faith Development Committee meetings;

c) Promote Faith Development programs to the Congregation and wider community;

d) Maintain communication with Coordinator, Minister, volunteers, parents and Faith Development participants;

e) Establish annual budget request and provide to the Board.
