Assist in providing training support services in various settings from a new hire, to peer member and to community Peer Support Training, as well as, educate and provide services in advance recovery and wellness to include First Aid/CPR.

Provide recovery support services in various settings to peers within the community to support, educate and provide services to advance recovery and wellness.

All content to be used or presented by the trainer will be given by the Company.

TRAINER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Live Peer Support Training (PST)

o Maintains quarterly, bi-monthly and monthly Peer Support Training schedule (varies by location).

o Generate training announcements/flyers and distribute to area clinics and appropriate RBHAs 3-4 weeks prior to each training

o Support local staff in reaching out to referrals prior to training, providing trainees with dates, times and location of training.

o Generate Orientation handouts prior to each training and distribute to trainer(s).

o Following training orientations, ensure trainees cleared status, generate training roster & send on to claims department for verification.

o Verify claims entered by training coordinator and trainer(s) following each day of training.

o Enroll absentees in online curriculum and monitor progress.

o Enroll private pay (live trainees) in to credible “ self-pay status, submit request to Finance Department to generate training invoice and forward to respective clinic supervisor.

o Prior to graduation, print, copy, scan & amp; mail PST Certificates to trainer(s).

o Following graduation: - Document Peers progress (graduation date) in credible profile.

- Add graduates to master PST log, also enter in NAZCARE database

New Hire Training

o Enroll new hire in appropriate trainings.

PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES:

Peer Support Specialist (PSS) will function as a role model to peers; exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills; serve as a peer advocate, supporter, providing peers information and peer support for people in outpatient and inpatient settings. PSS performs a wide range of tasks to assist peers of all ages, from young adult to old age, in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process. PSS will understand how the services provided impact recovery and assist a peer to advance in recovery and self-manage their recovery. PSS will be able to document the value of the services provided to provide evidence of outcomes in recovery.
