Merit Engineering & Equipment Co. (www.meritsaw.com), a division of Blount International, Inc. has an exceptional opportunity for a Welder/Fabricator at our facility in Prescott, Arizona.

BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION:
The successful candidate will fabricate or weld parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of the production line.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures
Set up, operate, and perform regular maintenance on tools such as welders, plasma cutters, shapers, and measuring tools
Perform welding or soldering
Maintain inventory of product in work stations
Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards
Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
Maintain a clean and safe work area
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED required
Gas Metal Arc Welding Certificate and/or equivalent experience
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Previous MIG welding or related operating experience required; TIG welding is a plus
Able to regularly lift 25 to 75 pounds, stand for 8 hours a day, perform repetitive tasks, and possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
Basic reading skills; must be able to follow directions
Must be able to follow directions
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
Collaborative and effective team player and able to work with teams who are globally dispersed
Set a good example of personal integrity
Demonstrate ability and willingness to learn; seek out development activities to improve skills and increase knowledge; learn from other team members and own mistakes
Specific technical or vocational training or certification may be required
HOURS:
Must be available to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm on a regular basis; available for overtime as may be required to meet production targets
