Responsibilities include managing the key accounting and financial reporting attributes, standardizing our processes related to global chart of accounts and partnering with the global consolidations team to provide the foundation and support needed to ensure proper accounting and reporting of activities from legal, management, and regulatory reporting perspectives. The ideal candidate is a proven leader that has experience in a similar role with a large global matrix organization, and the ability to partner and collaborate globally and cross-functionally.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManage and maintain the governance over the global chart of accounts within the primary general ledger and global consolidations tool.Responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of robust accounting and reporting processes related to key financial reporting data.Support, administer and improve processes related to key internal compliance matters for the Global Controllership team.Support and partner with cross-functional teams on special projects involving legal, management, and regulatory reporting requirements.Maintain compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles by providing technical accounting guidance on a variety of subjects, as needed.Arranges for and acts as secondary contact with the organization’s internal and externalauditors on relevant accounting matters.Interprets current accounting policies and practices; including the implementation of new operating procedures to improve efficiency.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requires a minimum of 10 years related experience to include at least five years in a lead or supervisory capacity. Must also have experience working with global companies with international operations and large public accounting or relevant experience. CPA a plus.CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSESCPA or MBA (graduate degree) preferred, but not required (depending on experience).COMMUNICATION SKILLSExcellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous information to top management. Highly developed written, oral, and presentation skills. Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and interact effectively with top management, employees, representatives of federal and state governments, and external auditors. Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data and prepare clear, concise financial reports. Must have ability to convey complex financial issues to nonfinancial users.FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGEBroad, in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), FinancialAccounting Standards (FASB), theories, & practices. Demonstrated experience & knowledge of financial issues & economic impact beyond technical knowledge. Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports. Advanced understanding of accounting and bookkeeping concepts. Develops and administers accounting practices to ensure optimum client satisfaction while guaranteeing CBRE financial interests are protected.REASONING ABILITYAbility to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex financial information and transactions and accounting principles. Ability to independently research complex accounting transactions/issues. Ability to problem-solve, both independently and working as a team. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIESStrong computer skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).Broad experience with large financial systems such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, etc. is desired. Knowledge of real estate service industry and terminology is helpful.External and internal audit/SOX compliance.Overall understanding and experience in application of GAAP and SEC financial reporting requirements including financial statements and financial statement footnotes.Self-motivated, strong work ethic and able to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong analytical and problem resolution skills, including the ability to research and simplify complex situations.Ability to interface with all levels of the organization to collect information and drive resolution.Must be detail-oriented, have a proactive approach and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.Must be able to effectively manage and prioritize critical deadlines.Ability to work in a team environment.SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITYDecisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines.
