We are seeking an experienced, communicative, and compassionate clinician to join our team and support the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of our clients. In this role, you will work directly with clients to actively listen to problems and concerns and suggest healthy and productive ways of coping with those issues. This role requires someone who enjoys working closely with people—not just with clients, but also with other members of our team and occasionally outside agencies.

Mentor Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for meeting with the assigned mentee for the agreed-upon time frame (i.e often numerous weekly meetings)

Ability to work independently, serving as a role model while guiding to promote wellness. Must be able to think and act outside of their personal belief system to connect properly with Native mentee and others who may or may not have a specific belief system.

Work closely with referring agency Case workers through phone contact, weekly via email updates and attending all scheduled meetings.

Responsible for providing supportive behavior management skills, independent living skills, and appropriate life skills in a non-therapeutic manner.

Follow all state-regulated mandated reporting, incident reporting, and duty to warn procedures.

Provide and arrange for an array of services depending upon the needs of the family outlined treatment plan.

Be accessible to families by telephone when needed. Available to provide services during evenings and weekends to accommodate the needs of the family.

Must utilize reliable transportation to provide services for clients at their home, in the community, and outings. Transportation may be provided as well as gas reimbursement.

Provide all written documentation and report requirements in a timely manner.

Work Hours and Benefits

HHHS is seeking both full time and part time clinicians. Part time clinicians will have a flexible schedule to meet both the needs of the assigned clients and personal commitments. Full time clinicians will be paid at a full status and available to clients within regular working hours.

HHHS offers employee benefits such as health insurance and 401K options. We are also currently offering the option to be an independent contractor, working under a 1099.

Mentor/BHT Qualifications and Skills:

Must have knowledge and understanding of Family Systems Theory; Behavioral management, Mental health disorders, etc. Have knowledge of and the ability to access community resources; experience and knowledge of evidenced-based treatment in cultural diversity; substance abuse; domestic violence; crisis intervention; medication; effects of child abuse/neglect and trauma on child and adult development, etc. Provide treatment that promotes dignity, independence, individuality, strengths, privacy, and choice. Protect and maintain all HIPPA requirements. Ensure clients obtain all services in a timely manner, while demonstrating ethical boundaries in a professional manner at all times. Knowledgeable of the scope of Behavioral Health work and participate in meeting all documentation and report requirements. Attend all required meetings internally and externally. Responsible for coordination of services with the Case Worker, Director of Services, and all entities involved minimally on a weekly manner. Responsible for attending all trainings, supervision, field observations, and required meetings outlined for all providers and contractors.

PHYSICAL

REQUIREMENTS:

Speaking, hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, bending, keyboarding, light lifting, driving, and writing.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

A bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health or health related field. A bachelor’s degree in any field, plus one year of work experience in behavioral health service delivery. A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) and a combination of behavioral health education and experience working with adolescent’s youth within a mental health agency totaling a minimum of four years. Candidate must be able to pass fingerprint background check. Must be able to work collaboratively in a rural multicultural setting.
