About the team

FIS Cyber Threat Hunting Team is responsible for advanced research into security threats to FIS and its customers. The team of highly skilled global threat hunters excel in proactive investigation into threats against FIS and FIS's customer's information systems, discovering the unknown, and developing innovative techniques to detect and respond. The team thrives in an ever-changing environment, with constant learning opportunities tailored towards an always evolving threat landscape.

What you will be doing

As a threat hunter, you will boost an aggressive cyber defense team responding to threats against FIS, with the unrelenting support from executive leadership to protect FIS and customer assets. You will participate in deep dive investigations into large sets of data seeking to uncover the unknown. You will support a team effort to execute an industry leading Threat Hunting program. Tasks include but are not limited to the following key responsibilities:

  • Identify and model threat actor techniques that need to be hunted.
  • Concept and execute threat hunting operations using state-of-the-art Endpoint Detection and Response tools (FireEye HX, Palo Alto Cortex XDR, Crowdstrike Falcon, Carbon Black Response, and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint) to discover unknown adversary activities.
  • Operationalize findings from hunt exercises to drive automation and improvements to cyber defense prevention and detection efforts.
  • Engage with and leverage highly technical internal partners including incident response, security operations and threat intelligence.
  • Communicate highly technical information to non-technical users.


What you bring
  • Passion for cybersecurity defense
  • Critical thinking and creative program solving skills
  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity
  • Experience in digital forensics and incident response or security operations
  • Deep understanding of threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
  • Familiarity with Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL) or similar query language
  • Team skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally as well as externally
  • BS degree in Computer Science, CIS, Cybersecurity, or related field OR 3+ years of equivalent work experience


Added bonus if you have
  • Experience with threat modeling
  • Experience performing advanced detection engineering
  • Experience in penetration testing and offensive security
  • Experience with data science and analytics
