DESCRIPTION

This position requires a dynamic developer who is entrepreneurial, has the ability to work with the ambiguity involved with launching completely new experiences, can develop and articulate strategic engagement plans and drive their execution.

As a Sr. SDE on our team, you will be leading and building cutting edge, highly complex systems to support brand owners around the world on Amazon. The ideal candidate should have a very strong customer focus coupled with a passion for continuous, data driven improvements. They should have a strong sense of ownership and a passion for delivering creative solutions for complex problems. A commitment to mentoring, teamwork, agility, and strong communication skills are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high performance requires exceptional technical expertise and a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science and large-scale systems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
• 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C, or C# including object-oriented design
• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• 2+ years of experience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team

• 5+ years industry experience as a Software Engineer or a Software developer with experience as a Senior Engineer leading teams in an agile environment
• 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C, or C# including object-oriented design
• 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 8+ years of equivalent professional or military experience
• Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures and algorithm design, and complexity analysis

• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
• Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Experience building scalable infrastructure software or systems for commercial online.
• Experience building ecommerce sites and back end systems.
• Experience developing Unit Tests using tools such as JUnit to verify your code quality.
• Experience with AWS EC2, EBS, RDS, SWF, etc, or other cloud compute-based and platforms.
