POSITION OVERVIEW:Performs a variety of engineering duties by applying basic engineering techniques and analyses within transportation engineering. The Engineer at this level is in a developmental mode, being trained under close supervision in the utilization of engineering theories and practices, and gaining exposure to Company procedures. The primary duties include working in a team with project engineers on the detailed design of transportation projects. More specific duties include preparing the following using local or AASHTO standards: horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, intersection layout, interchange layout, roadway drainage, development of complete roadway plan set and construction estimates. Other responsibilities will include providing assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications, and calculations. May also assist with day to day communication (verbal and written) with the client, oversee work of junior engineers and technical staff, and coordinate with sub-consultants to keep projects on schedule and within budget.SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:Requires basic engineering knowledge in civil or transportation, or a related field. Familiarity with Microstation, Openroads, Geopak, Civil3D or other CAD software packages typically associated with engineering is also required.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 0-3 years of related work experience.Some related work experience and/or internships preferredIn addition, an EngineerinTraining (EIT) Certificate is preferredRequires basic process engineering knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineeringReady for action?
