Responsibilities

We are seeking

Experienced (3+ years) AWS Software Engineers who are actively deploying and servicing cloud native applications within the AWS platform to join our State Farm team. The AWS Software Engineer's role in projects is to build, maintain, monitor and/or integrate AWS-based computer systems and data. Some responsibilities include:
  • Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
  • Commitment to automation in a cloud environment
  • Applies an expert understanding of development tools, processes, applications, programming languages and environments to assignments
  • Designs and develops full-stack applications using industry-adopted languages and frameworks
  • Enables AWS migration activities through design and development-related work items and architectural engagement
  • Provides highest level of support for problem and issue resolution and provides technical consultation and direction to business and product team members
  • Leads strategic work across the product suite and utilizes application architecture to increase efficiency and effectiveness of complex issues
  • Champion and provide guidance with an innovative mind set to deliver product solutions
  • Influences and provides direction on product development practices, coding, data and testing standards, code reviews and software architecture
  • Conducts research and integrate industry best practices into processes and potential solutions

Qualifications

We Are Looking For Candidates With:
  • Experience using industry tools, frameworks, and languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, React, SQL, Scala, Spring, Spark, Node.js, GoLang, etc.
  • Experience with building, implementing and maintaining cloud-native applications.
  • Experience using AWS core services (IAM, KMS, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Aurora, Route 53, etc.)
  • Ability to use Terraform or a related Infrastructure as Code technology to manage Infrastructure
  • Ability to create pipelines/automation to deploy changes to production with quality and DevOps best practices
  • Ability to quickly adapt and thrive in a changing, highly collaborative agile team environment
  • Strong aptitude to learn new languages and frameworks

Additional Skills:
  • Experience providing technical leadership for a product team
  • Technical knowledge of Data (Structured, Unstructured), hands on experience with data design preferred
  • Experience supporting applications, including troubleshooting, logging and observability (Splunk, Datadog, CloudWatch, Dynatrace)
  • Additionally, experience supporting application security, patching, and costing on AWS
  • Certifications; AWS and HashiCorp a plus

Compensation Range: 84,620.00 -194,700.00
