Kittelson is seeking a full-time CAD designer to join our team of transportation professionals in one of our Arizona offices.

Position Summary

This is an opportunity to join a growing, values-driven transportation engineering/planning consulting firm. Our design engineers apply cutting-edge tools “ virtual reality, 3D printing, lean management “ to solve complex transportation challenges. The ideal candidate, who will join either our Tucson or Phoenix office, has a passion for technology; strong connection to transportation; solid time management capabilities; works effectively with a variety of people; continually seeks to improve processes; is detail-oriented; and thrives in a non-structured environment.

In this role, you will work with a group of dynamic transportation design engineers to perform production, modeling, and programming-related assignments. In this position, you will:

Work full-time and onsite at either our local Tucson or Phoenix office

Manage time appropriately to meet competing deadlines on multiple projects

Work closely across the firm with our engineers, planners, and team of technicians

Ensure design integrity and consistency on each project

Work as part of an integrated project team in a role that involves:

o Redlining markup of plans, graphics and reports

o Interpreting engineering notes and markups

o Creating and maintaining complex layering and externally referenced drawing files

o Engaging in BIM, virtual design modeling, and visualization rendering activities

o Programming CADD tools to facilitate design and production processes

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Meet one of the following two experience requirements:

o Two-year associates degree in CAD design or related technology subject

o A minimum of 2 years of full-time CADD experience using Autocad and/or Microstation

Civil or transportation background is preferred.

Attention to detail is a must.

Good verbal and written communication skills

Applicants career focus should be centered on mastering technical tools for creating design plans as well as illustrative graphics for reports and presentations.
