DescriptionCandidates who possess a proven ability to identify issues and resolve problems, might be interested to apply their talents to this challenging Assistant Controller position. You will supervise the accounting staff and report any updates to the Controller in this Assistant Controller role. This full-time employment opportunity is based in the Tucson, Arizona area. Uphold to ensure a competent, trained staff through development, regular assessment, and goal setting
Classify and develop Ad Hoc financial reports
Supervise the accounting team during the closing process to certify deadlines are met
Make relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like actual spend against budgets/outlook, the monthly flash report, and key financial metrics
Work on other requests when required
Provide regular account reconciliation to completion
Approve implementation and verify adherence to accounting policies and procedures
Enhanced preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
Draw up numerous procedures, policies, and technical accounting analyses
Pinpoint and develop process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
Encourage accountability and the meeting of deliverables
Backfill for Controller where necessary
Participate with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting

Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Solid understanding of Financial Statement
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Considerable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well
Certified Public Accounting license or exams in progress
Strong technical background in public accounting (GAAP)
Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work
