Duties:
Wash dishes if needed!
Inspect food preparation, serving areas to ensure observance of safety conditions
Wash, cut and prepare foods designed for cooking
Turn, stir foods to ensure even cooking
Observe, test and taste foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
Weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
Portion, arrange and garnish food to be served
Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, coolers and freezers
Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush
Bake, roast, broil or steam meats, fish or vegetables
Wash, peel, cut or deseeding fruits or vegetables to prepare them
Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils
Cook and package batches of food
Maintain Sanitation, Health and Safety Standards
Verify that prepared foods meets requirements for quality and quantity
Read food order tickets correctly and acknowledge verbal orders on the fly
Clean, stock and restock work station upon arrival and departure
Wrap, date, label and rotate all food products to eliminate any waste
Alert appropriate staff of any equipment breakdowns, food overage or shortage in a timely manner
Prepare sufficient quantities of food products in accordance with production plan or forecast needs.
