WHY THIS SIDE OF CONSTRUCTION?

This is not a labor-intensive side of construction; it is a gradual progression toward technical. This industry is based on how much knowledge and understanding you have. Not always how long you can last when its 115 degrees outside. You aren’t paid for breaking your back over finishing concrete. You are paid to be the eyes and ears of our Professional Engineers in making a very important and objective decision. Its either to pump the brakes on that part of the construction process, or to sign off on it and allow the project to move forward.

If you want to feel like your job matters, then having 10-15 of your signatures inside the walls of a brand-new structure should help you feel that way. You decide if something has been built the way it should be and at ProTeX, you acquire Certifications that back that signature and help others know that your evaluation is crucial to Construction. Builders entrust us to value our signatures by understanding what it means and they expect us to hold them accountable.

DAY-TO-DAY SUMMARY-

Each Technician can conduct a variety of inspections each day and at several different construction sites. Inspections vary in how much time they consume, some can range between 15-45 minutes, and the need to drive your work truck from site-to-site can total 3-4 hours in the truck- sometimes half the day. You need to be comfortable in a work truck for that long and of course being considering the AZ Summers- 115 degrees isn’t an exaggeration.

SCHEDULE-

When Concrete pours are done, they are done early. Our Field Techs do their best to avoid the summer heat here in AZ and that requires being up early- anywhere between 1am to 5am, depending on where you live in the valley. The schedule is sent out the night before- between 5pm-6pm- and provides the time of your first inspection the next day. This enables our Techs to be off earlier in the day on some days and have time to run errands, take care of appts and not deal with traffic. 8–10-hour days are common at this time but keeping our Techs to 40 hours/week is always our goal and management is the one leading that effort.
