Job Brief:

Are you a hobbyist or influencer that wants to expand your audio/video skillset while supporting a great cause?

Are you in college pursuing a marketing, communications, media arts, film, or journalism degree and want to start putting your classroom skills into practical job experience?

We are looking for responsible Audio/Video Support Interns to perform a mixture of AV tasks to include creation of Raw AV to completed production.

We invite those to inquire, even if they only have some experience as listed under Key Responsibilities and a few of the Skills and Qualifications listed, willing to train (ie: those that have only the ability to hold a camera and record video, but not edit).

Role Objective:

The successful Audio/Video Support Interns will ensure the efficient and smooth creation, organization, and compilation of Candidate media promotional materials and AV assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Organize and manage files and digital media databases in a classified manner

Manage correspondence including emails and phone calls

Assisting on shoots and setting up and breaking down lighting and audio equipment, camera operation

Assist with the creation of both still and animated graphics

Operating the switcher and broadcasting live-stream events

Assist in filming, editing, and overall creation of short-videos

Meet the project goals

Help maintain our studio spaces and greenroom

Assist editors with digital media offloading, verification and backup of footage/media

Quickly sync and organize Raw footage

Ensure proper backups and archives are made

Help with Marketing of the committee

Assist technical staff in video analysis and breakdown

Assist in editing recap/promotional videos

Assemble and edit string outs, full scenes, and videos for a variety of media outlets

Assist in Post-Production tasks such as ingesting and organizing video files, creating thumbnails for social, setting up projects and sourcing assets, and looking for music tracks

Provide practical and creative input to new promotion and video ideas

Assist with keeping website content updated and relevant

Make recommendations on material that should be kept, or can be deleted

Clearly label and timecode material, with specific references

Assist with the implementation and creative brainstorming for experiential and video marketing

Shoot material on DSLR cameras, and edit when required

Checking cameras for consistent shooting, settings, maintenance, sync film/photograph 2nd camera during shoots

Operate boom mic during backstage interviews/shoots

Film training sessions, interviews and other team activities

Edit content for TV broadcasts, social media, etc.

Skills and Qualifications:

Take initiative, self-manager

Ability to commit through November 5th.

Potential weekend availability to ensure coverage

Ability to bend, stoop, walk, and climb frequently

Interpersonal relationship skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and outside contacts

Must be able to pass a federal background and/or security check.

Helpful

Expertise in social media video distribution on all major platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, TikTok

Someone who has taken some business and/or computer science/programming classes is preferred

Can describe and visualize complex topics in an easily accessible way (and loves doing so)

On set DIT knowledge a plus

Curate and edit multiple video objects on a daily basis, including video editing work headline and caption writing

Experience and comfort with DSLR Video photography other video cameras

Working knowledge with editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro, creating basic motion graphics, and post production processes

Familiarity of photography, videography, 2D and 3D graphic design, and/or HTML/CSS/javascript is a plus

Actively pursuing an undergraduate degree or recent college graduate

If actively in college, a minimum of 1 year pursuing communications, media arts, film, or journalism degree
