Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Must possess competence in the following areas in order to perform his/her role in a safe, productive and effective manner:
+ Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
+ Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws
+ Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk and marking gauge
+ Verify trueness of structure, using plumb bob and level
+ Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue
+ May be required to use the following tools/equipment: carpenter's hand tools, small/medium/large power tools, bench tools (saw, drill, grinder), concrete saw, chipper, sander + When not performing the above mentions essential duties and responsibilities, may assist in other operations as designated by supervisor
+ Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment + Experienced Carpenters in form work, form setting, placing and finishing concrete, tying rebar etc.
Physical Requirements:
+ Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
+ Ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 80 pounds
+ Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl
+ Ability to correctly rig and hoist material
+ Ability to tolerate heights without fear
+ Ability to maintain balance
+ Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, reach for, handle, and manipulate items and to work in extreme weather conditions (cold and wet)
+ Able to work long, irregular and varied hours, six to seven day per week, 50 to 70 hours per week + Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
+ Ability to safely and effectively perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal , state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
