Moore US Mail Contractor, Inc. contracts mail routes through the United States Postal Service. We operate these routes in the areas of Poteau, OK, Fort Smith, and Russellville, AR.
We are in need of a few dependable drivers to fill in for our regular drivers when they need time off or take vacation. CDL is not required, but driving experience is preferred. This job works best for someone who has another source of income, as we cannot promise a certain number of hours/days per week, since this may vary greatly week to week.
All routes are local, Monday-Saturday. All routes are split shift; meaning that there is an early morning run carrying mail out to surrounding post offices, and an afternoon run bringing mail in to the hub. Route times vary by schedule but most will fall within the 4 am-7 am and 4 pm-7 pm time frames each day. Schedule times are set by the USPS, so being on time and following the schedule is crucial!
The vehicles on these routes vary from a cargo van to a 24 ft box truck depending on contract requirements.
Applicant requirements:
Must be at least 21 years old
Current DOT medical certification
Clean federal background check
Clean driving record
Must have reliable transportation and a reliable cell phone
ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, as well as random drug screens
ability to operate a manual/stick-shift transmission
ability to wake up to an alarm and be on time :)
The best way to land a full time driving job with us is to start as a sub driver. We typically hire from within when full time spots come open (and there may be one or two soon!)
