Job Description: The Carpenter constructs built-in-place or prefabricated wooden forms, according to specifications, for molding concrete structures.Candidate will erects Built-in-place forms or assembles and installs prefabricated forms on construction site according to blueprint specifications, using hand tools, plumb rule, and level. Inserts spreaders and tie rods between opposite faces of form to maintain specified dimensions. Anchors and braces forms to fixed objects, using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, and timbers. Work involves most of the following: planning and laying out of work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions, using a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments, and making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work; and selecting materials necessary for the work. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum two (2) years demonstrated relevant experience as a Carpenter, described above, capability for fieldwork involving heavy lifting and climbing over rough terrain under various weather conditions is preferred. Special Job Requirements:
When outside, incumbent may work in seasonal inclement weather and adverse environmental conditions. Must be physically fit and able to lift, move and/or carry up to 50 lbs of field gear and able to perform fieldwork that sometimes involves walking long distances in extreme weather conditions.
