Well established and busy Utility Services and Underground Construction Company seeking an experienced Coax Splicer and an experienced Node Technician to join our winning team in Springfield, AK. These are direct hire, long term career opportunities with a progressive and growing organization, the starting pay rate is $18-$28 an hour plus excellent benefits.
Coax Splicer will be responsible for splicing coax cable in a production-based operation.
Duties/Responsibilities
Connect new build and replaced coaxial cable according to customer specifications.
Collect and document signal and leakage checks after splicing is completed.
Troubleshoot to resolve signal problems, including, but not limited to, existing aerial and underground coaxial cable.
Perform splicing in overhead and underground environments.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read RF signal meters and interpret existing HFC plant design.
Experience in coax mainline splicing and RF setup
Must have knowledge of installation of equipment such as nodes, amplifiers, passives
Knowledge of forward and return RF signal
Node Technician will be responsible for the installation, test and turn up of telecommunication equipment and related components.
Duties/Responsibilities
Site infrastructure installations – racks, cable racks, power, grounding, cabling, etc.
Train technicians from deployment to installation close out
Utilize baseline equipment connectivity diagrams to resolve site specific connectivity challenges
Conduct optical testing using Optical Time Domain Relectometer, Polarization Mode Dispersion, and Chromatic Dispersion
Circuit wiring, inspection, testing, and activation
Required Experience/Abilities:
Experience in network infrastructure build-out, mounting telecommunication hardware, cable/fiber installation, cable/fiber terminations and cable/fiber testing
Experience with patch panels, timing and synchronization and communications devices
Hardware/software installation of networking components including pre-commissioning hardware with base configurations
