Offering Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance & Retirement Plan. Must have tools. Maintain Fleet of Peterbilt Dump Trucks and Caterpillar heavy equipment. Five years minimum experience in Heavy Equipment/Truck Fleets preferred. Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
Responsibilities/Duties:
⢠Diagnosing (using scanning tools/laptop) and repairing heavy equipment, as required (hydraulic, electrical and mechanical)
⢠Maintaining, scheduling and conducting routine preventative maintenance
⢠Testing operations of heavy equipment and trucks to ensure repairs are complete and accurate
⢠Maintaining spare parts inventory
⢠Ensuring all unused parts are returned timely
⢠Maintaining a clean and safe work area
⢠Keeping management informed of all up-coming and out-standing issues
⢠Be available for irregular and after-hours emergency calls, as needed
⢠Assist in recruiting, screening, training and evaluations of shop employees
⢠Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Education/Certifications:
⢠High School diploma or equivalent
⢠Must possess and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
⢠CDL and Hazmat/Tanker Endorsement
⢠Certified Drug/Alcohol Awareness Program Supervisor (preferred)
Special Skill/Knowledge:
⢠Must possess strong leadership and supervisory skills and excellent work habits
⢠Must have knowledge of TCEQ Hazardous Waste requirements
⢠Must be proficient in the Globally Harmonized Training Systems for hazardous chemical identification
⢠Ability to lift heavy equipment and vehicle parts
⢠Ability to communicate effectively; ability to maintain emotional control in stressful situations
⢠Direct, supervise and work in concert with shop personnel
⢠Coordinate all vehicle repairs, fueling and wash bay operations
Equipment Used: Small hand tools, drills, drill press, grinder, air-powered tools, torch, jack, lift equipment, welder, vehicle diagnostic, repair equipment, personal computer, fax machine, phone and copier.
Physical Demands: Moderate walking, standing climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching; routinely lift and carry parts and equipment 15-75 pounds; possess manual dexterity to complete projects in a craftsman fashion.
