Job Description

Exelixis has newly formed the Digital Transformation (DT) function to effectively support Exelixis’ rapid growth which is expected in the next 3 to 5 years. To support business functions in process simplification, automation and data-driven decision making, DT will introduce relevant technology products. DT products will aid in sustaining both organic and inorganic growth of Exelixis, increasing operational complexity of additional product launches, indications, capabilities, and geographies. Exec Dir - G&A, PharmaOps, Supply Chain (PSC) Technologies will focus on product design, development and maturity in close collaboration with business partners from G&A, PSC functions in simplifying the business processes, enhance digital dexterity of the functions, establish what success looks like for the respective G&A and PSC technologies and the technologists.

The ideal technology leader for G&A, PSC functions will lead product design, development, project, resource and portfolio management to allow these functions scale, promote faster and more informed data-driven business decisions, and optimize human resource levels and allocation.

The Executive Director of G&A, PSC technologies will actively collaborate with key stakeholders to determine scope and nature of business requirements and priorities to consider for the product engineering. This leader will also collaborate with functional and x-functional leaders to establish the vision and define strategies for meeting determined requirements and stays accountable for driving the product maturity roadmaps. The ideal candidate will be actively involved in identification, evaluation, selection, implementation, ongoing administration and improvement of engineering products, platforms, procedures, and culture to execute the defined vision and product roadmap.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced technology leader with in-depth understanding of all aspects of products, processes and associated technologies, specifically working with the departments of G&A and PSC.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluate, identify and support technology/process gap analysis, implementation of core FP&A, HR, Pharma Ops, Supply Chain, Manufacturing products and technologies (e.g., ERP, HRIS, LMS, etc.) to support primary business processes, data collection, integration, analytics and reporting goals.
Strong product knowledge and engineering leadership in implementing SAP ERP systems is essential
Build collaborative partnerships with FP&A, HR and PSC business leaders and subject-matter experts to identify multifaceted business problems and develop products and analytical solutions in key areas like fraud detection, enterprise risk assessment and evaluating financial performance.
Plan, develop, implement and maintain products and technologies to support ERP, Finance and Employee master data, Supplier Master, Integrated Business Planning, Control Tower for SCM, Commercial Supplies Management, QMS, HRIS, LMS, and other relevant products and associated data integrations with other enterprise systems for seamless processes and foster x-functional collaboration.
Partner with the Program Management Office (PMO) to provide timely status updates on product releases and established business priorities to Exelixis executive leadership team, G&A, PSC leadership.
Formulate a clear vision and provide technology leadership for G&A and PSC functions
Build an effective team with dedicated, expert resources and lead team output to deliver expected outcomes for G&A and PSC functions.
Identify risks and drive continuous improvements in ERP, HRIS systems through technological innovation, operational improvement, and championing adoption.
Act as strong advocate for the advancement and adoption of new products, capabilities and technologies; educate internal stakeholders on the advantages of new products & tools for their respective functions.
Partner across the enterprise to drive alignment on single source of truth for shared data sets, such as Finance, Supplier, Employee Master with G&A and PSC business partners.
Maintain in-depth industry knowledge.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Yes. Will lead efforts to build internal expertise and staff FP&A, HR and PSC products/engineering team.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Education:
BS/BA degree in related discipline and 18 years of related experience; or,
MS/MBA degree in related discipline and 16 years of related experience; or,
PhD in related discipline and 12 years of related experience, or;
Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:
Typically requires a minimum of 22 years of related experience or the equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
Experience is required in the areas of technology strategy, product design, engineering, platforms, data architecture, and analytics.
Experience in Biotech/Pharma Research, Clinical, or Manufacturing data analytics

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Requires deep understanding and high domain expertise of G&A processes, tools and industry benchmarking data.
Familiarity with a range of products and platforms such as SAP S4/HANA, SAP Analytics cloud, SRM, ARIBA, Concur, Hyperion, ADP, Workday, HireRight, RedCarpet, SuccessFactors, etc.
Hands-on-experience or strong familiarity needed with SAP ERP, ADP/Workday HRIS, etc.
Strong knowledge on integration platforms/tools such as MuleSoft/TIBCO/DellBoomi or SAP Cloud Platform Integration suite is essential
Demonstrated ability to deliver large, complex, programs involving system and process reengineering and integration.
Proven ability to collaborate with senior functional leaders to set vision, drive innovation and facilitate transformation to meet evolving business needs and priorities.
Applies strong analytical and business communication skills.
