Position Overview:The Nursing Supervisor provides clinical and administrative direction within a designated shift to all hospital personnel. The primary objective of this role is to assure the provision of high quality patient care. The Supervisor ensures adherence to all hospital policies and procedures. S/he works collaboratively to maintain efficient and effective use of resources. S/he maintains timely and appropriate communication with all Department Directors/Managers for any issues affecting theirdepartments.Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent education and experience required
Master's Degree in Nursing or healthcare field is preferred
Licensure/Certifications:Current CA RN License Required
BLS Certification Required
ACLS Required
PALS Preferred
NRP Preferred
Experience:Previous clinical nursing experience in acute care is required
Proven experience in a leadership/management level position is required
Skills/Knowledge:Demonstrated knowledge of hospital operations essential
Knowledge of budget monitoring and QA/QI is desirable
Knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as JCAHO, Title XXII, Medicare & Medi-Cal
Basic computer skills such as word-processing programs, spreadsheets, staffing systems and/or acuity systems are required
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, as well as, good interpersonal skills required
Demonstrated proficiency in clinical nursing skills, i.e. patient assessment, intervention, and evaluation
Demonstrated skills in problem identification, analysis and resolution
Demonstrated ability to assess staff needs, and provide development and supervision
