A well-respected multi-specialty clinic in the Monterey County is looking for a Physician Assistant to join our team!

The Medical Group currently has four clinics located in one of the most beautiful areas of the US along the Central California Coast. The region has the best of the best in terms of golf courses, vineries, hiking, surfing and many other cultural, outdoors and indoors sports activities. Excellent private and public schools (ranked nationally) and an extremely low crime-rate make this an excellent area to live for families and single individuals alike. The San Francisco Bay Area is a 90 minute drive.

The Medical Group flagship center has a state of the art EMR software along with onsite x-ray, laboratory, psychiatry, physical therapy. The group is managed by a group of seasoned industry executives who focus on the administration while the physicians independently deliver patient care under the leadership of an experienced medical director.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Supports center physicians and performs tasks traditionally performed by physicians.

* Engages in direct patient care:

* Performs physical, mental status and medical history examinations; makes records of findings subsequently reviewed and countersigned by supervising physician;

* Orders and interprets laboratory studies/examinations to determine treatment, orders medication and other forms of treatment as ordered by the physician;

* Follows patient progress and makes changes in treatment as necessary;

* Applies local anesthetic, examines and cleans wounds, incises and drains abscesses and sutures;

Performs duties as required by supervising physician.

* Calls client representatives following employee treatment for initial injury or return to work status.

*Maintain professional communications by attending all required meetings, conference calls and responding to email, telephone or written communication in a timely manner.

DEMONSTRATED JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

*Work experience in urgent care, occupational medicine, or emergency medicine setting

* Superior customer service and "bed side manner" skills.

*Organized, intelligent and professional

*Critical thinking, deductive reasoning and decision making skills.

*Able to work independently

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

Current DEA License

Current California Physician Assistant license

Spanish is a plus!

Must have or be willing to become certified for DMV Physicals
