The client is an independent-minded 92-year-old woman, living in her own apartment in Bakersfield. She is starting to exhibit small mental deficits and has minor physical challenges. She has companions staying with her 24/7.
Duties include housekeeping support, checking medicines, and other companion tasks if requested. These may be meal prep, showering and dressing assistance, or operating electronics.
The ideal caregiver is quiet, respectful, and able to occupy themselves. They will monitor the clients general state and offer assistance when appropriate. They will coordinate with family members to provide updates and keep current with the clients medical needs. Companion care is needed now, but the caregiver must be qualified and ready for more active care if circumstances change.
Experience working in memory care or with clients or relatives who have mental deficits strongly preferred.
Shifts will be 8 hours, 1 pm 9 pm, or 9 am 5 pm, three days a week to be determined. Flexibility will be appreciated.
