What You’ll Do

The Warehouse Manager – South will report to the VP of Operations. This position will be responsible for implementing the warehouse management strategies in Laurel’s southern regions (Delano, Bakersfield locations). The goal is to ignite, train, and remove obstacles so that warehouse staff can be as efficient as possible.

What You’ll Be Responsible For (Key Responsibility Areas)

Become an expert in Netsuite (ERP system).

Build and implement facility layouts and bin locations.

Implement mobile warehouse strategy (service trucks).

Implement safety protocols.

Manage and develop physical inventory count strategy (cycle counting and end of year).

Train warehouse staff to use Netsuite to save time and build accuracy.

Build a culture of safety and efficiency.

Build and provide accountability for receiving, fulfillment, job staging, and returns.

Oversee facility maintenance by site staff.

Provide support to Inside Sales / Retail Managers.

Coordinate with Director of Construction to efficiently handle materials.

Coordinate with Director of Procurement / Director of Construction to maintain equipment and fleet assets.

Manage fabrication department and assembly stocking. (Possible responsibility of Construction per our list)

Other Areas of Contribution

Coordinate with Purchasing Manager – South and Director of Procurement to enhance ERP system and optimize data use.

Coordinate with VP, Operations to develop Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Help coordinate centralized part/assembly fabrication and distribution.

E-commerce development.

Other business-related large-scale purchases (equipment, fleet program, etc.).

Provide initial support for HR and Payroll concerns

Support Director of Procurement on key strategy implementation (centralized distribution, new product selection, direct sourcing etc.)

Education

Associate's Degree, business administration or related field - Preferred

College Diploma, business administration or related field

High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Qualifications

Previous supervisory experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Proficient in ERP system management and enhancement (Sage, NetSuite, etc.)

Track Record of successful vendor negotiation and supply chain management

Experience in Irrigation and agriculture industry

Experience with Lean Six Sigma
