QA Automation Test Engineer Long term Contract role with No End date Work Location: Belmont, California 94002
Description: Located in the heart of Silicon Valley and represents the Group in applied research and development. This open position is part of a team that focuses on the series development support of electronic/electronic systems with particular relevance to the US and Canadian markets. People most suited for this position are able to derive technical systems from market-driven ideas, assertively work with suppliers building trust and finding common ground solutions, and work well in a multi-disciplined environment. - Travel is estimated to be 5-10%.
Years of Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in IT Software Quality Assurance (incl. agile development practices, source code revision control and unit tests) and/or Software development
Telematics/Online Services projects, preferably with an Automotive OEM or Tier-1 Supplier (2-3 years)
Required
Experience implementing internal SW tools
Strong fundamentals in C, Python, OOPS, HTML
Android App Development and SW Testing
Minimum of 2-3 years Automotive OEM or Tier-1 Supplier experience
Quality Assurance Test Methodologies
Software Automation Testing (Backend/APIs) with Industry Tools (Selenium, JavaScript, Python)
Java framework experience (preferred Spring)
Prior experience with API Testing (JSON services, RESTful services)
Experience with HTML, CSS3, JSON, REST client, automated Web UI testing
Requirements analysis and test case derivation
Integration and testing of IT Architecture Backend and Frontend Systems.
High level automation framework design and prototyping
Issue and risk management
Ability to interpret technical specifications
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Motivated team player, with positive attitude and strong work ethic
Desired
At least 3 years’ experience as a IT cloud projects, preferably with an OEM
Experience leading sprint planning
Experience developing GUIs (preferably using Qt)
Experience with CAN and other automotive Buses/protocols
Android Automotive OS development/integration
Modelling of requirements in SysML/UML
API requirements management and implementation
Passion for cars and car electronics
Knowledge of automotive infotainment
German language skills
Prior experience of working with OEM design centers
Role responsibilities:
Online Services IT Testing responsibility
Quality Assurance of Online Services
Develop/implement unit tests and test frameworks for JSON and RESTful service calls
Defect management / issue lifecycle management
Requirements analysis and creation, plausibility and risk analysis
Manage the API requirements between Backend Systems (SOAP, REST, HTML, MQTT)
Contribute in the management of variant, quality and change management
Software & cloud development coordination
Integration of service packages in vehicle projects and securing the deployment in production
Testing of functions at component and system level
Synchronization of US Development activities with internal and external stakeholders
Reporting of status and progress to internal and external stakeholders
Risk Management
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field
