You will support thephysicians and nursing staff in the delivery of health care by performing avariety of medically related tasksJob Duties and Responsibilities:Greets patients, take appropriate vital signs, reviewcurrent medications and record in medical record
Coordinates, or serve as liaison, for administrativeand clinical (based on scope of practice) support activities includingfacilities management, patient billing, utilization management, qualitymanagement, risk management, human resources, and payroll
Coordinates communication between patients, familymembers, medical staff, administrative staff, insurance plans, and otherdepartments
Manages patient care flow and assist with monitoringCS-Link message pools and standard work
Monitors their own workflow independently to meet therequirements of their position at a level of expertise that requiresminimal supervision
Assists with tracking and monitoring departmentspecific data
Explains policies, procedures, or services to patientsusing clinical or administrative knowledge, based on scope of practice
Sets up exam room/procedure rooms appropriately basedon patient visit needs
Cleans/re-processes equipment and supplies based onstandard work and department guidelines
Addresses patient, physician, and staff concerns andresolve problems accordingly
Provides assistance and direct patient inquiries orcomplaints to appropriate medical staff members and follow up to ensuresatisfactory resolution
May lead daily huddles and staff meetings andparticipates in performance improvement activities within the localassigned department
Educational Requirements:Graduation from accredited California Medial Assistant schoolHigh School Diploma/GEDMedical Assistant DiplomaLicense Requirements:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Heart Association and/or American Red CrossExperience:2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinical/medical office setting preferredCS-Link/Epic Healthcare preferredCedars-Sinai is an EEO employer.
