Where You Will Work
Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM) is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace. We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments.

Summary

The Environmental Engineer assists with development and implementation of the environmental management system in the overall Environmental, Health and Safety management system. The position will be responsible for all environmental permitting and compliance support relating to air, chemicals, oil, water and waste programs, including the successful tracking and submittals of required reports to ensure compliance with all corporate, local, state, and federal requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of and experience with advanced principles, theories, methods and techniques of water and metals based chemistry.
  • Knowledge of and experience with interpreting and applying local, state and federal guidance related to pollution prevention, stormwater treatment and source control, and wastewater treatment.
  • Strong data analysis skills with ability and experience in analyzing complex environmental issues; developing and evaluating alternatives; recommending strategies, policies, and effective courses of action.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing; prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive reports, correspondence, and other documents involving administrative, organizational, technical, and budgetary data; communicate complex analytical topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Oversee the facility emergency response team to ensure appropriate training in emergency response, spill response, disaster preparedness and crisis management.
  • Performs other duties, job related or otherwise, as assigned

Education and/or Experience

A successful candidate should have a A.S in Chemistry or chemistry related field and/or Environmental Sciences or Engineering background. The candidate must be a team oriented person with good communication skills. A successful candidate must be able to excel at the following:
  • Previous experience in waste treatment and/or a Certificate as a Waste Site Worker
  • Show high level of job related knowledge
  • Show a high level of quality of work
  • Follows set attendance/punctuality policies
  • Shows good communication and listening skills
  • Is dependable

Preferred Skills
  • Strong Chemistry background
  • Strong Mathematic background
  • Good Organizational skills
  • Electroplating/Metal Finishing experience
  • ISO quality mgmt. systems experience
