About the Role:
Under the indirect supervision of the Director, Human Resources (HR), the Manager, Human Resources will play a key role in driving solutions that meet the company’s diverse needs. They will be the main HR point of contact for headquarters corporate staff and they will manage a staff of three HR Business Partners. While simultaneously managing day-to-day HR activities, they will develop corporate policies and solutions, and will proactively work with the Director, Human Resources and the Manager, Learning & Development on projects. They will formulate partnerships across the HR/People organization and other business functions to deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.
This role requires an effective level of business literacy with the ability to understand and apply this knowledge as it relates to the company’s strategy and budgetary plans, company culture, and its manufacturing and agriculture processes and teams. You will be in a position where you will be working on new processes, and at times, developing and implementing them from the start. Because we are building the bus while we drive it, there will be moments you will be left with little instruction and you will be expected to find answers and develop proposed roadmaps for the best way forward. The Manager, HR will have excellent organizational, technical, and communication skills with the ability to handle a multitude of assignments, simultaneously in a fast pace environment. Close attention to detail and production of thorough documentation is a must.
Past experience in Human Resources in California (or state with similar employment laws, ex: Oregon) is required. Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
