Small group business line manager accountable for strategic and day-to-day business cycle management, planning, and execution along with associated compliance requirements. Works with Vice President of Small Group, Sr. Director of Small Group Business Development and Retention, Strategic Market Planning, Legal, Channel and Sales Effectiveness, Product Development and Communications to lead regional strategy and planning to achieve regional business line membership, revenue, and market share objectives. Accountable for: Development, execution, monitoring, and mitigation planning of the annual LOB strategy including sales and marketing plans. Strategic and tactical business cycle management including product portfolio planning, rate setting, membership, and operational readiness. Tracking, reporting, and presenting to executives the LOB performance, planning, and issue remediation. Responsible for driving "voice of the customer" into KP (external&internal "voice"). Look into how to do a better job of retaining existing employers/members and how to do a better job of attracting new employers/member groups. Provides support for the Health Plan & Medical Groups in terms of monitoring performance and providing new insights into customer needs. Focus areas include: Market position, Product Development, Brand position, Advertising evaluation, service performance/customer satisfaction, Sales & Marketing performance. Provide research support to Senior Leadership to help guide strategic&tactical decisions.Essential Functions: Thought partner with business owners to identify large-scale business/strategic issues. Initiate and design high priority primary research activities on behalf of clients. Addresses opportunities for process improvements and influencing change within KP. Projects require more complex planning and direction setting with diverse and multiple stakeholders. Inform colleagues across the Program of current research activities, share research findings and implications, help train new Program colleagues, and assimilate new findings from those colleagues. Actively participate in setting national market research priorities based on "global knowledge" of industryand organizational strategic issues. Serve as expert on the current health care market research/knowledge. Help identify key gaps in knowledge and needed research for Program and Regions. Guide clients away from redundant, non-strategic, cost-ineffective research. Set priorities for ad-hoc projects and analysis with key clients. Assist clients in strategic planning, marketplace analysis, estimating growth potential, product research, image and reputation analysis, brand building, and service performance and improvements.Basic Qualifications:Experience- Master's degree and minimum six (6) years of experience, OR;- Doctorate degree and minimum three (3) years of experience.Education- Master's degree in marketing, market research, business, or social sciences with thorough training in qualitative and quantitative analysis and research methods.License, Certification, Registration- N/A Additional Requirements:- Ability to manage large, complex projects and to oversee multiple projects at the same time.- Apply advanced market research methodologies.- Viewed as functional expert in field within KP.- Ability to apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts and explain to clients.- Considered expert in field within KP.- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
