Your primary function will be to debug, provide examples, to champion, and to assist customers in utilizing Client’s cloud media processing service, helping them to rapidly adopt Client’s technologies and integrate them into new and existing media workflows. In this role, you will be working with a wide variety of customers during the pre- and post-sales process. Customer interaction will include ticketing systems, email, telephone and web-based meetings. You will complete assignments independently, interpret generally defined practices and methods, apply knowledge and understanding of customer needs and provide training and guidance both internally and externally.
Essential Job Functions:
Interact directly with customers and new prospects to help them adopt and use Client’s cloud-based technologies
Become a technical authority in cloud media processing
Provide detailed integration support and deep technical knowledge to our partners who are integrating Client’s cloud-based services into their own offerings
Understand customer requirements, deliver technical presentations, technology demonstrations, and promote the value proposition of Client technologies to customers
Be the technical lead for demonstrations to customers, technical staff and senior management
Requirements:
4 year degree (Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or similar preferred) and at least 5 years of experience in professional video engineering
4 years or more of direct experience in system engineering and/or other technical customer support in broadcast or OTT industry
Strong experience with video codecs, and compression standards such as H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC
Hands-on experience working with cloud services, AWS preferred
Experience integrating/consuming REST APIs
Knowledge of common video analysis tools, particularly focused in file-based workflows
Experience debugging and troubleshooting video encoding and streaming problems
Experience with FFMPEG at the command line
Experience coding in one or more scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, etc.)
Experience working with streaming technologies and protocols including HLS and MPEG-DASH
Experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Markdown, etc
Self-motivated and self-disciplined
Excellent written and verbal communications skills and demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve goals established in a team environment
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, both functionally and geographically
High competency in written and verbal English
Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% - domestically and internationally
Desired Competencies:
Knowledge of Streaming, Broadcast, MVPD content distribution systems and architectures is very desirable
Knowledge of closed captioning and subtitle formats
Amazon AWS experience (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, etc.) is very desirable
Software portfolio (via Github or similar) is desirable
