Position Summary
The Website Merchandiser executes Canyon's website merchandising plan, ensuring that the Canyon user experience and accompanying content is relevant to customer needs, meets brand expectations, and improves web shop metrics. Ultimately responsible for driving growth across each website product category, the Website Merchandiser develops and deploys effective, personalized, and data-driven content across Canyon’s web presence in line with sales needs, seasonality, and trends in cycling.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a comprehensive understanding of ecommerce best practices and the skills necessary to leverage this knowledge to improve the overall Canyon user experience. Reporting to the Website Content Admin and frequently partnering with the Brand Manager, Customer Service Team, and various other departments, success in this role is measured by a positive influence on traffic, conversion, and end-to-end digital customer engagement.

Summary of Role and Responsibilities

  • Manage general product (bike and gear) website presentation and placement through implementation of ecommerce merchandising best practices.
  • Create seasonal product listings ensuring accurate SKU level details are reflected on the website by proactively managing merchandising presentations to support product conversion.
  • Implement site content features to increase product awareness and customer confidence.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Brand on product launch management and integration into all areas of the site.
  • Act as an inter-departmental liaison to resolve merchandise-related issues for product, marketing, and customer service teams
  • Assist the marketing team in establishing the campaign calendar and influencing product priorities to support sales and marketing plans.
  • Work with the marketing team to define customer groups and design in-cart and post-purchase engagement strategies that drive cross and up-sell revenue.
  • Create and analyze merchandising reports to aid in on-going site merchandising optimizations and growth opportunities.
  • Maintain a suite of daily and monthly online merchandising tasks including optimization of sorting rules, filters, product placement, search management, etc.
  • Work with the global digital team to understand and deploy new features across the shop to improve product discovery and conversion.
  • Create and maintain product collections, product sets, & bundles.
  • Maintain pricing integrity and accuracy in accordance with sales promotions and pricing strategy.
  • Interface with global merchandising team to learn and share results and experiences.


Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

:
  • 3 years of experience with the Salesforce Commerce Cloud Business Manager (DemandWare) platform
  • Fluency in front-end website development utilizing HTML, CSS.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Communications or related.
  • Must have knowledge of bicycles and cycling culture.
  • Excellent grammar, writing, copy-editing and communication skills, including the ability to adapt writing style to appeal to different audiences and adhere to established brand voices.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects while meeting scheduled deadlines.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with interdepartmental disciplines.
  • Expertise in digital communications including web, email, social media, mobile - and more.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment
Work is performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
Position requires up to 10% of travel both domestically and internationally. Passport is required for this position.
