RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Carlsbad, CA that is seeking a Project Engineer - Optical Network Systems.
Responsibilities:
The Project Engineer will assist in developing, coordinating, and driving requirements and schedules to ensure quality and timely delivery
Lead and/or assist in the development of statements of work, as required
Coordinate and review work done by other engineers, technicians, other support staff, vendors, and subcontractors
Apply a collaborative/consultative working and leadership style, relying on common sense and personal competence for persuasion and consensus-building
Participate in technical feasibility decisions
Managing and negotiating product and feature delivery dates with internal and external stakeholders
Project Engineer will provide interface between development team and stakeholders
Communicates status externally for the team
Manage product roadmap including which features to deliver, when, including capacity planning and forecasts
Manages the product backlog:
Creates and clearly communicates product backlog items
In this role, the Project Engineer creates and defines epics linking them to initiatives
Grooms and prioritizes the backlog
Sets timeboxed goals as part of backlog grooming
Work with platform lead to prioritize the backlog
Works to remove roadblocks for the team to help them progress their development - coordinates across the organization when necessary to achieve objectives
Project Engineer will be creating a charter with a clear definition of what a team does or provides
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
At least 8 years of experience in designing, delivering, and managing optical networks
Recent experience with coherent DWDM optical networks
Experience in leadership and collaboration across teams made up of multiple disciplines including internal groups, vendors, subcontractors, and partners
Understand and experience in contributing across product/service life cycle while simultaneously driving down the cost to deliver the solution
