RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Disposables) in Carlsbad, CA.

Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer (Disposables) is responsible for overseeing the production of custom medical devices and providing engineering guidance and support to ensure FDA, and ISO regulatory compliance. The Engineer designs, prototypes, supports, sustains and analyzes medical devices, equipment and associated processes and packaging. The Engineer conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. The candidate directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Documents product and process design information in quality system records. The Engineer will work on multidisciplinary project teams during design and development, design transfer to production, production ramp up, and continued post release support activities. This position will encompass process engineering tasks, design engineering tasks, manufacturing engineering tasks, and sustaining engineering tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities:
Works on engineering tasks related to the design and manufacturing of disposable and electromechanical medical devices and manufacturing processes
Transfer of products from R&D to production or from contract manufacturer to internal production
Researches and develops new components, assemblies, and processes as needed
Participates in review of research and product development activities; assists in the build and test of engineering prototypes
Generates test protocols, performs tests, and generates reports for product verification and process validation testing

REQUIREMENTS:
Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of related experience and a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in a scientific/engineering discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Working experience with SolidWorks and Prochain is highly desired
Experience with disposable medical device assembly, processing, rapid prototyping
In depth understanding of Design Controls, Verification, Validation and Design Transfer
Knowledge of sterilization processing.
Basic understanding of Ultrasound Technology and Electrical Engineering is preferred
Consistently demonstrates technical proficiency and developing innovative solutions; Anticipates and provides solutions for obstacles and challenges
Must be able to understand job duties and responsibilities, have the necessary skills/knowledge and be willing and able to continue learning and growing within the field

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce accurate, punctual reports/information, as required and thoroughly share information with others

Able to quickly adapt to change
