Essential Job Functions
Responds to escalated support issues during and outside regular business hours.
Provides advanced troubleshooting and monitoring of network, servers, and applications, both physical and virtual
for performance and downtime.
Builds, maintains and manages servers.
Monitors servers and applications.
Troubleshoots LAN connectivity and network infrastructure. Investigates and reports on root cause analysis for
alerts and events.
Installs or assists in the installation of hardware and peripheral components such as servers, virtual servers, and
network equipment.
Performs patch management and security updates for Windows server operating systems.
Manages data backups, daily monitoring of jobs and issue resolution, follows the defined methodology for
documentation, implementation, and support.
Performs and maintains failover and disaster recovery sites in Microsoft Azure.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree is required. Computer Science, Information Technology or other related field of study preferred.
5+ years of System Engineer experience with Microsoft operating systems and servers required.
2+ years of hands-on experience with Amazon AWS or Azure is highly preferred.
Vendor certifications a plus (Microsoft MCSA / MCSE, CCNP etc.).
Working knowledge of email systems including spam filters and Microsoft Exchange a plus.
Experience with VMware / Vsphere/ ESXi virtualization.
In depth knowledge and experience building and troubleshooting Microsoft server operating Systems 2008 - 2019 highly preferred.
Familiarity working and collaborating with development teams to support customer facing applications is highly preferred.
Experienced in IT operations, taking ownership of backups and restore processes. Veeam experience and Azure backup a plus.
Automating using Powershell a plus.
In depth knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, GPO's, replication, Domain controllers and roles required.
Knowledge of load balancing technology a plus.
Other Requirements
Travel to the offsite datacenter and other sites may be required: up to 10% of the time.
Position shall be On-call 24x7.
Potential work to be performed weekends/evenings and holidays.
