Job Description

We are currently searching for a dynamic Logistics Support Specialist to join our talented Traffic & Logistics department. This key role will ensure the end-to-end transportation, coordination and delivery of our products. In this position, you’ll be working closely with domestic transportation companies and multiple internal departments, as well as our highly valued B2B customers. This position is on-site at our Carson headquarters.

A day on the job looks like this:
Quoting and contracting with common carriers and trucking companies
Coordinating with Lakeshore’s Distribution & Warehouse team to move products for shipment
Tracking and tracing shipments of all method types
Overseeing all transportation processes, including the services and functions provided by ground/air
Ensuring timely delivery of products to avoid storage fees and unexpected expenses
Assisting in negotiations for trucking rates, including expedited and spot rates

Qualifications

Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:
2+ years experience working in a logistics department (for internal candidates, 2+ years of administrative/customer support experience)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
Proficiency with Salesforce.com or similar CRM
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
Superb attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple projects
Exceptional customer service skills in dealing with both customers and internal departments
Strong sense of urgency and a “can-do” attitude
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to think outside the box
