Position Summary:
Manpower's client is seeking an Optical Transport Engineer regarding the Greater L.A. market to work with other substantial team members in developing various concepts within all stages of the project. This includes the scoping process which involves various on site development teams. This position doesn't require traditional leadership, but they play an integral part classifying, describing, and creating the SOW for new, as yet unidentified Optical opportunities within the customer's network.
Furthermore, this individual's role encompasses a SME with an extensive background and understanding concerning; 15454, NCS2006, and NCS2015 platforms and has customer facing responsibilities. Additionally, this person serves as the local expert concerning Cisco Optical network design, troubleshooting expertise, product knowledge and advice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze/validate Condensed Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM), Optical Transport, Synchronous Optical Networks, and Carrier Ethernet networks to meet requirements of our customers.
Maintain and administer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
Evaluate customer-provided network designs, engineering packages, test plans, and Method of Procedures to ensure effectiveness and compatibility for the final implementation.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and other network and system problems either in the field or by remote access.
Validate the design, configuration, and testing of hardware, networking software and operating system software.
Coordinate activities relating to customer engineering processes and Statement of Work (SOW) implementation procedures.
Minimum Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
Experienced or Certified in Fiber Optics Characterization Testing
Experienced in deploying both dispersion compensated and coherent networks.
Must have a valid Driver License.
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of industry related experience
Experienced or Certified in Fiber Optics Characterization Testing
