Job Description: Accountant
Reports to: Director of Operations
Supervises: N/A
Job Status: Full time, exempt level position
Summary:
Analyze and manage corporate data to optimize revenue and ensure organizational stability.
Essential Functions:
Perform monthly invoicing under tight deadline
Account for client billing hours and staffing requirements; maintain funding spreadsheets
Oversee all phases of semi-monthly payroll process, complete final review and submission; prepare post-
payroll reports for management
Responsible for entering Accounts Payable and processing checks for payment
Administer client cash accounts receiving and distributing funds
Perform monthly checking account reconciliations
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
Prepare year-end file for CPA
Work closely with external auditor for annual audit
Prepare annual minimum wage analysis report
Auxiliary Functions:
Prepare analytical reports as requested by management
Work closely with and/or backup Accounting Administrator
Maintain employee data in payroll system
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting.
Ability to work independently and accurately with minimal supervision.
Intermediate level knowledge of, and direct experience with Quick Books, Microsoft Excel and Word
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to perform analyses and identify discrepancies in various accounting reports, processes, etc.
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have minimum of two years full time, full range accounting experience.
Must have intermediate to advanced ability with Quick Books
Must submit to and receive clearance from a fingerprint-based background check.
Financial Responsibility and Authority:
Responsible for accurately invoicing for optimum revenue
Responsible for submitting accurate payment for a variety of online accounts/bills
Physical Requirements/Typical Working Conditions:
Environment: Primarily a temperature-controlled office environment.
Equipment: computer equipment (monitor, mouse and keyboard), ten-key and telephone.
Essential Physical Tasks:
o Sight sufficient to read physical documents/spreadsheets/images primarily displayed on a computer
monitor
o Hear sufficient to hold face to face/telephone conversations
o Touch sufficient to operate computer equipment and writing implements
o Physical ability/strength sufficient to sit/walk/stand/bend as needed throughout a standard shift.
