Under the general direction of the District Manager, performs responsible, professional managerial duties related to the overall functions and goals of the District. The Assistant District Manager oversees day to day operations and completes special projects. The position directly oversees administrative and accounting staff and shares oversight of Supervisors and Superintendents with the District Manager. In the absence of the District Manager, serves in that capacity.
The Assistant District Manager serves a variety of leadership roles and carries out key day to day implementation of District goals. The position serves as the Districts human resource administrator, oversees the marketing program, and completes key assignments such as program reports and the development and evaluation of the budget.
Successful candidate will have appropriate education and experience. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
Bachelors degree or higher with major course work in park and recreation management, business administration, personnel management or a related field.
A minimum of four years managerial and/or mid-managerial experience in the recreation and park profession.
