The Associated Students of California State University, Chico is recruiting for a part-time Kitchen Coordinator at the Child Development Lab. This is a part-time, non-benefited position that will work no more than 25 hours per week during the academic year. The pay rate is $12.65/hour with no other benefits. The anticipated schedule is 9:30am to 1:30pm Monday through Friday. This schedule is subject to change based on operational needs. This position is expected to begin mid-August 2019.

KITCHEN COORDINATOR, Part-time

SUMMARY

Under direct supervision, coordinates receiving, portioning, and distribution of prepared meals and snacks and ensures required reporting, dishwashing, sanitization and overall cleanliness of the CDL kitchens.

TYPICAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Receives daily food delivery from Dining Services.

Maintain appropriate documents such as transport sheets, meal production sheets, food log and other records as required.

While monitoring any known food allergies, prepares food trays and coordinates classroom delivery ensuring proper temperature and proper portioning of food.

Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, coordinates daily with assigned student assistants, AS Dining Services staff and CDL office staff to ensure food service, dishwashing and kitchen cleanliness/sanitation is complete.

Ensures proper safety standards for CDL kitchens.

Maintains documents such as transport sheets, meal production sheets, food log and other records as required.

May assist with daily meal production sheets.

Other duties may be assigned.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a kitchen environment; exposure to heat and moisture; some exposure to children's diseases and health problems.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Stand and walk for extended periods; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; verbal communication; reaching; lifting up to 25 lbs.; use of kitchen equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

Knowledge of:

Food service sanitation and safety.

Ability to:

Maintain proper standards of sanitation and safety.

Demonstrate cooperative behavior and maintain effective working relationships with the campus community, general public, co-workers, and those contacted during the course of work.

Work well under pressure meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadline.

Experience:

Six (6) months kitchen experienced preferred.

Education:

No special requirements.

Special Requirements:

Tuberculosis, MMR and Tdap clearance. Must be willing to be fingerprinted and receive any clearances as may be required by law.
