Local company has position open for a PART TIME Maintenance and Operations Technician to work on private wastewater treatment systems.
Minimum requirements for a trainee would be: plumbing, electrical and mechanical skills. Needs to be a self-starter with a high degree of common sense, as well as good problem solving and communication skills. Must be able to read and write (legibly) in English. Any prospective employee must be in good physical condition, and possess great physical strength and endurance to perform varied maintenance tasks at plant sites. This position requires the following: continual movement including standing, sitting, reaching, squatting, pulling, bending and the ability to lift as much as 100 lbs. This is an “outdoor” job; therefore you should be prepared to work ALL weather conditions: rain, snow, hot sun.
This is an interesting and expanding occupational field, which integrates aspects of mechanics, plumbing, biology, soils, hydrology, engineering, electronics and ecology. Preference will be given to applicants familiar with STEP systems, intermittent and bottomless sand filters, and Advantex Pod systems. Also helpful is a working knowledge of bio-tube filters, clarifiers, pumps and vaults.
Because our work area is local and time sensitive, applicants must live in the Chico—Paradise area, or be able to relocate at their own expense. All applicants must be flexible, punctual, and have the ability to multi-task in a demanding work environment. Employees are expected to be ethical, honest, and moral and to represent the company with the highest standards possible.
This is a Part Time position to start, offering appx. 16-24 hours/week with potential to grow into full time. On becoming full time, this position requires on-call nights and weekends on a rotational basis. We offer competitive wages and benefits, as well as on-the-job training. Drug testing is required. A clean driving record is a must. Absolutely no DUI’s; no accidents within past 4 years, and no major violations. We will require a DMV printout at your job interview. If we can’t insure you to drive our vehicles, we can’t hire you.
