Purpose and Key Results of the Position
Perform quality maintenance and repairs on all equipment used in Drying and Storage (D/S), while ensuring continuous operations of the D/S facilities.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Maintenance
Ensure that all equipment, in all plants, is in excellent working order
Ensure a quality, preventative, and predictive maintenance program is followed on all equipment, in all plants
Maintain an inventory of all spare parts
Ensure the security of all hand and power tools, at all times
Ensure proper drainage of all facilities
Ensure the security of all bobtails
Follow daily preventative maintenance (PM) schedules and communicate with supervisors if schedules are not met
Organize and maintain used equipment storage area
Safety
Adheres to safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for fellow employees within all OSHA local, state and federal regulations
Maintain current knowledge and certifications in OSHA programs related to electrical safety (i.e., ARC Flash)
Other
Conduct confined space entries in compliance to LFF program requirements
Maintain required qualifications for confined space entries
Maintain thorough knowledge of metal fabrication and millwright work through continual education opportunities
Perform other assignments from time to time as directed by the D/S Facilities Manager or other members of management to achieve department and company business goals
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
Possess an in-depth understanding of preventative maintenance programs
Possess excellent communication and organizational skills
Must be detail oriented with excellent problem solving abilities
Intermediate ability to do metal fabrication
Intermediate ability to arc weld, oxygen/acetylene weld and use of torches
Intermediate ability to trouble shoot and repair electrical problems
Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and managers at all times
Work well under pressure in order to meet multiple, and sometimes, competing deadlines
Qualifications
3+ years of mechanical and welding experience
High school diploma or GED
Valid CA Drivers License
Preferred
1+ year(s) of electrical experience
Work Environment
Work area is in an environment with varied moderate temperatures and high background noise. Position involves exposure to odors, dust, and mosquitoes.
Physical Requirements for Performing Essential Duties
Sitting/Standing/Walking: 100% of the time will be standing and walking around the worksite
Speaking/Hearing: Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors
Vision: Ability to visualize items around work area
Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and hold up to 40 pounds
Stooping/Kneeling: Ability to stoop and/or kneel to access equipment frequently
Reaching/Handling: Ability to retrieve and work with appropriate equipment and supplies
